Sebastien Monnet currently serves as Vice President for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS), the professional organization and leading advocate for the state banking system.
Mr. Monnet oversees the development, promotion, and administration of professional development programs for the state bank regulators and the financial services industry. Mr. Monnet also serves as the liaison with CSBS' educational partners, such as the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, and the National Center for Financial Training. He is an eCollege Certified Online Instructor, and is a regular speaker and instructor at banking and education events.
Before joining CSBS, Mr. Monnet served as a financial examiner with the Office of State Bank Commissioner, in Topeka, Kansas. He assisted in the safety and soundness examination of financial institutions in the State of Kansas, reviewed and analyzed operational sectors of these institutions, including lending, investment securities, funds management, earnings, and assessed compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Mr. Monnet graduated cum laude from the Université Panthéon, in Paris, France, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Economics. He and his wife Julie have a daughter Natalia and reside in Chicago, Illinois.
